The second place Castlegar Rebels had significant trouble stopping third place, Beaver Valley Nighthawks in tonight's home game.
An inability to capitalize on power plays and a soft defense lead to a 9-3 loss. Out of seventeen power plays the Rebels scored on only one.
The Rebels will go on to play two home games this weekend. Friday's game will be against the Golden Rockets and Saturday they will be battling the Columbia Valley Rockies in Invermere.
