The Castlegar Curling Club hosted the Annual Verzuh-Clay Memorial Bonspiel

The Castlegar Curling Club hosted the Annual Verzuh-Clay Memorial Bonspiel Feb. 6-8 with a total of 16 teams from Kaslo, Nelson, Rossland, Beaver Valley, Trail and Castlegar taking part.

Each team played five games over three days and the winning teams were Team Meadows from Nelson in the A Event, Team Bouma from Beaver Valley in the B Event, Team Walsh from Trail in the C Event and Team Nowoselski/ Hoover from Castlegar in the D Event.

The bonspiel honours the memory of two longtime Castlegar curlers, Mike Verzuh and Ralph Clay. In his 93rd year, Verzuh was the oldest active curler in B.C. at the time.
