Rebels out-blast Chiefs in high-scoring affair

The Castlegar Rebels beat the Spokane Braves 9-6 in a high-scoring battle in the Lilac City.

Darren Medierios and Dylan Sibbald led the Rebs with two goals each while Diego Bartlett, Brenden Heinrich, Alex Dartnall, Stuart Walton, and Tanner Johnson scored singles.

Connor Beauchamp picked up the win in goal for Castlegar playing two periods and stopping 20 of 22 Spokane Shots. Jordan Gluck played one period and stopped eight of 11 shots that he faced.

The win moves the Rebels into first place in the Neil Murdoch division with a 4-2-2 record and 10 points. Beaver Valley and Nelson have eight and seven points respectively, although both have played two less games.

The Braves and Rebs face off again Friday at the Castlegar Complex at 7:30 p.m.
