Steve’s No Frills runs a two-week charity event every year and has chosen Special Olympics B.C. — Castlegar as this year’s recipient.

The event is called “Give A Little, Help A Lot” and it started last Friday and will run until Aug. 31.

As customers go through the tills with their groceries, the cashiers will asking them if they would like to donate $2 to SOBC — Castlegar.

SOBC is entirely dependent on fundraising and donations to provide the 10 sports opportunities for over 35 intellectually challenged athletes.

The sports include swimming, bocce, floor hockey, basketball, golf, club fit, rhythmic gymnastics, snow shoeing, bowling, and soccer. Seven of our athletes just won medals at the BC Provincial Summer Games in Swimming and bowling.
