West Kootenay in third in medal standings at senior games

The BC Senior Games are into their third day and the home team West Kootenay Boundary region is doing very well.

The West Kootenay Boundary region (Zone 3) is in third place in the medal standings as of Friday morning at the B.C. Senior Games with 53 medals including 15 golds.

In first place in medal standings is the Lower Mainland with 71 total medals, followed closely by the Fraser Valley with 67.

 

Gold winners from Castlegar thus far are Audrey Andre in women's 55-59 Swimming 100 metre Freestyle; Gordon Gibson, Track and Field - Men's 65-69 Weight Throw; and Cheryl Closkey, Track and Field - Women's 60-64 Weight Throw. Closkey also picked up a silver (Discus) and two bronzes (Shot put and Javelin) in track and field.
