Shake off the winter doldrums at Café Chocolat III on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The Slocan Valley Grassroots Grammas will transform the Vallican Whole Community Centre into an elegant cabaret. Building on the success of the first two Café Chocolats, guests can expect fine entertainment, delicious sweets and savouries, and beverages served to you at your table. Plan to enjoy wine, craft beer, a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, and food from charcuterie to chocolate. A silent auction will tempt you with quality items and services donated by local businesses and Grassroots Grammas members.

Slocan Valley Grassroots Grammas stand in solidarity with African grandmothers through the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign, a Canadian grassroots response to the crisis faced by African grandmothers. Through local projects, grandmothers in Africa support their grandchildren affected by the HIV and AIDS pandemic. All proceeds from Café Chocolat III support this campaign.

Advance tickets ($25) include admission, food and local entertainment. During the event you can run a tab for drinks, to be paid as you leave by cash, cheque, or e-transfer.

Tickets will be sold in advance only, and a limited number are available. Tickets can be purchased from members of the Slocan Valley Grammas, or call 250-608-1597.

From 7 to 10 p.m. on Feb, 24, dress in your finest and celebrate an elegant evening with your community at Café Chocolat III. This event is hosted in partnership with the Vallican Whole.
