Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held online and in person on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. to consider Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw 1401 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1402 for property located at 1800 8th Avenue.

The City has received a proposal to construct a 300 square metre self-storage facility within a portion of the ground floor of an existing hotel at 1800 8th Avenue. In order for the project to proceed, Council must approve amendments to the Official Community Plan and Zoning bylaw. Proposed amending Bylaws 1401 and 1402 permit up to 7.5% of the building’s floor area to be utilized for commercial storage and require that the storage facility is accessed from the rear or side of the hotel only.
A copy of the proposed Bylaws may be inspected at City Hall, 460 Columbia Avenue, Castlegar, B.C. on regular business days (Monday to Friday) from Thursday, May 4th 2023 to Monday, May 15th 2023, inclusive.
