February 2, 1934 – February 17, 2017
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our mother Joan Muller, she passed peacefully at home with family by her side. Joan had just celebrated her 83rd birthday in February. Joan was the mother of six children, 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Her family was her most prized possesion, she loved us all dearly and gave selflessly to each of us. She was just such a gentle caring soul, she made you want to be a better person. She devoted her life as a caregiver for many years to her parents Inez and Jack, daughter Mary Ellen and then her husband Mike.
Joan was a faithful member of the St. Rita’s parish and spent 40 plus years as an active member of the CWL. She made the best sandwiches and was famous for her lemon meringue pies.
Joan was an animal lover and loved her pets dearly.
Joan is predeceased by her parents Jack and Inez Miner, husband Mike and daughter Mary Ellen.
Those left to mourn the loss are Joan (John), Jeanie (Bryce), Madi, Jax and Ryker; Amie (Nick), Nathan an Brendan; Kris (Karen), Cortnee, Cole and Laura (Chris), Lucas and Lily; Andy (Tracy), Nick (Jessica), Zack and Lexi; Dan (Edwina), Almanda (Colton), Max, Logan and Noah, Kayla, Cameron; Tim; Mick (Chris), Lily, Sophia, Nina, Amelia, Conor, Reece and Miranda; Jim (Adrienne), Nolan and Bennett; brothers Wallace and Dave (Brenda), sisters Jacqueline, Annette, and Marilyn (Pete) and their families.
The family would like to thank the Home Support for all their help and care, it meant so much to all of us.
There will be a prayer service Thursday, February 23, 7:00 p.m. and a celebration of Joan’s life 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 24th, all at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Castlegar. A luncheon in the hall will follow the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA in Joan’s name.
