After a three year hiatus due to COVID, Castlegar Art Walk will be back in 2023.

Plans are still unfolding for this year’s art walk but spokesperson Henny Hanegraaf says she expects a robust event.

“Art Walk is good for the community and good for artists,” said Hanegraaf. “We are excited for its return and we hope the community is too.”

Art Walk features local artist’s creations on display at area businesses. The community is encouraged to stop by each venue to view the art. Many of the pieces are available for purchase.

Organizers are hoping that artists will bring the stockpiles of art created during the darkness of the pandemic out into the light for all the community to see.

The event will run from June through September.

Artist application forms can be found at the Kootenay Gallery of Art, the Castlegar Library and on the Castlegar Art Walk Facebook page.
