Advance voting dates for Castlegar city council election approaching soon

Two mayoral candidates and seven council candidates are on the ballot

The first advance voting day for the Castlegar city council election is taking place soon.

Voting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Castlegar & District Community Complex (located at 2101 6th Ave.) from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The second voting opportunity will take place the following Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the same location and times.

The opportunity to request a mail-in ballot has now passed.

General voting day is Saturday Oct. 15.

Two mayoral candidates — Maria McFaddin and Lawrence Chernoff — are on the ballot.

Seven candidates are vying for six council seats. The council candidates are Darcy Bell, Brian Bogle, Sandy Bojechko, Shirley Falstead, Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff, Cherryl Macleod and Florio Vassilakakis.
