A Castlegar-area woman convicted of 2020 drug trafficking charges has entered a guilty plea for new charges stemming from an Oct. 25, 2023, arrest near Scotties Marina.

Robyn Poznikoff was first convicted of the 2020 offences in November 2022 and was sentenced to two years of house arrest in July 2023. But after her second arrest in October 2023, she was ordered to spend the rest of that sentence in jail.

At an April 15 court appearance, Poznikoff changed her initial innocent plea for the 2023 charges to guilty for one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Poznikoff was sentenced to an additional year in jail and 18 months probation. The new jail time will be served consecutively, after her first sentence is complete. She also faces a lifetime firearms prohibition.
