The Castlegar Rebels have added scoring punch and plenty of KIJHL experience with the acquisition of 20 year-old forward Scott Morisseau. Morisseau, who is from Castlegar, was acquired in a trade with the Fernie Ghostriders on Aug. 15.

The Dam City Rollers derby team is practicing hard in preparation for their upcoming play-off game in Rossland on Aug. 19. The ladies will be taking on the Babes of Brutality for second place.

Hosting the regional meet at Castlegar Recreation Complex didn't hurt the Aquanauts as 36 of 44 swimmers swam personal best times and 25 picked up medals. The 'Nauts were able to topple the mighty Trail Stingrays by a scant 28 points to take the overall title.

After four years as an assistant coach with the Rebels, Topher Plonka is taking his talents to Cochrane, Alberta to work with international players.
